Description
Imagine the ambiance of relaxing by a cozy fireplace with a glowing fire inside a charming, authentic log cabin. Then imagine sitting by a crackling firepit as the creek flows by…. This is what a vacation is all about and Creekside Comfort is the perfect place! This cabin is located in the quaint community of Todd, NC which is famous for the Todd Mercantile and RiverGirl Fishing Company where you can rent canoes and paddle down the scenic New River, or rent a bike for a ride on Railroad Grade Road which runs beside the New River. They even teach you how to fly fish if you are so inclined!
From the moment you step into “Creekside Comfort” you are sure to feel at home. A warm and inviting kitchen/dining area greets you. Featuring a gas log fireplace, a dining table for four with lazy susan, and even a Keurig coffeemaker, the kitchen is well-equipped for preparing a quick snack or even a full meal. There are tractor seat stools around the kitchen island, so the whole family can hang out together while the meal is being cooked.
The living area is a spacious sunroom with gas logs, a flat screen, wall mounted TV above the fireplace, and access to both the front and back deck by the creek. Curl up on the comfy leather sofa with recliners on each end and watch a good movie. Open the blinds and let nature shine in through the many windows.
Also on the main level is the master bedroom with queen bed with flat screen TV and private bath with tub and shower.
Upstairs is another loft bedroom with a comfy double bed, rocking chair, and a half bath.
Sit a spell on the covered front porch and listen to the bubbling stream – that will surely take all your cares away…or build a fire in the firepit by the creek, roast some marshmallows, and catch some fireflies!

Overall great experience and loved the cabin. The only thing displeasing was the amount of leaves that had fallen and had not been cleaned up or blown off of the property porches and entry walkways which made it difficult to enjoy sitting outside. Quite a lot of leaves. Some cobwebs inside as well, but overall clean for our needs

Great experience! The cabin has the old school cabin feel with some really nice modern updates as well which I appreciated. We relaxed and enjoyed the cozy sunroom and it's beautiful view of the flowing creek right in the back yard. The house is for the most part secluded, and in a cute neighborhood with trees all around. We are considering going in Spring just to see how different the landscape will be when everything is green. Would recommend this rental for sure.

Peaceful mountain getaway

Enjoyed our stay here very much. Very nice, clean comfortable little cabin in a great location. Quiet neighborhood out in the country but only 10 minutes to West Jefferson and a half hour to Boone. Loved sitting by the creek with a fire and watching the deer. Would definitely stay here again.

The cabin was just as described. Directions and communications with the management company were thorough and professional. The cabin was clean and stocked as promised. The sheets and towels smelled freshly laundered. The cabin is pet friendly with a fenced off area to the left of the cabin.you don't notice it as it blends into the scenery, which is amazing. Deer were in the yard when we arrived and we saw them daily. The property is centrally located to shopping, hiking, sightseeing etc. We were very happy with our stay and hope to stay again soon.

To start off we decided to go on a whim and I ended up having to call after hours and I was surprised to get someone to answer the phone but they did. They were very helpful also. The property was in a great location and it was very clean. It looks just like the picture but is better in person. The little stream is Great! Very quite and close to Boone and West jefferson. The cabin is very unique and is well stocked.We didn't want to leave but we will definetly be back! To top it off, the office staff were great. very friendly and helpful. The whole experience was one for the books. Most of the time there is always at least one thing wrong, but not here. Perfect! We saw deer also! We will be back.

Wonderful escape! First getaway since COVID and we had a great time. Cabin was very easy to get to and everything needed was close by. Mornings in the porch having hot tea/coffee were amazing and nights by the fire-pit were so relaxing! Even our fur babies had a great time! We will definitely visit again! I brought my little dog for a short vacation from Covid and the same old same old. The cabin is delightful (except for the DVD which I was looking forward to using). The bed is very comfortable. The cabin nicely done and clean. I would come back again.

What a pleasant, cozy and clean cabin. My family and I enjoyed this cabin and it’s location to all the hot spots in the mountains. We have fur babies and this cabin was so accommodating. It had everything you could want in a family vacation to the mountains.

We loved our stay at Creekside Comfort. It was a perfect place to get away and destress. We enjoyed the feeling of solitude but also the convenience of Shopping and hiking just minutes away. The management company was very responsive to a couple of issues we had (not enough towels, loose hinges on front door). They were there to correct the issues within an hour of our call. We will definitely rent from them again.

This is easily one of the best rentals we’ve had! The house is so incredibly comfortable and it was easy to settle in and feel at home the entire time we were there. It was clean and well stocked. The gated porch was perfect for our dog to sit outside with us while the kids played in the creek. It was great to have a washer/dryer, charcoal grill, and a little fenced yard. We had to move our trip after we scheduled it, and the property managers were great to work with! This place is close to everything!

This little log cabin was the perfect vacation spot. Private, but close enough to restaurants. The flowing creek can be heard from inside the cabin and was so relaxing. The place was stocked was basic necessities and was spotless. I would definitely stay there again.

Spent New Year's in this wonderful cabin. First and foremost, the staff at Carolina Mountain Properties get five stars+++. Wonderful to work with. The cabin was exactly as pictured except the steps to the loft were extremely steep and narrow. Difficult to carry luggage but beds were comfortable and location perfect. Could use some bigger frying pans but overall, nicely equipped with everything else. Would stay again

This cabin is quaint, cozy, and perfectly efficient in amenities and layout. Relatively convenient to some winter activities but a bit of a drive to most.
The 2 gas fireplaces provide plenty of warmth in 30 degree weather. The outdoor fire pit and creek are an ideal setting for relaxation in any weather.
The kitchen was perfect for light cooking, the loft is great for kids, and the sun/living room was great for family time.

cabin was extremely cute. A few issues floor was not clean with candy noted under table, dirty bath cloth over shower curtain, and kitchen fireplace could only be turned off manually under it. We even changed the battery. pet hair noted when we arrived. otherwise a wonder several days.

A Nice Stay for a Few Days

Cabin had good curb appeal. Front and back porches could have used a good sweeping. Outside furniture dirty. Inside cabin floor was dusty in corners and harder to reach spaces. Some wiring for inside lighting was "rigged" and could possibly be a safety issue. No dishwasher and would have really appreciated the convenience. Paper products and hand soaps were furnished and appreciated. Well-stocked towels and linens.

A rustic getaway!

We had a great stay at Creekside Comfort! The location was perfect for us and our girls loved playing in the creek. We spent time hiking at Jefferson State Park and kayaking down the New River and biking in Todd! The house itself was small and so cute and overall a good cabin for our short mountain vacation. Tips for future renters: There is no dishwasher, so be prepared to wash your dishes after your meals. Also, the electrical situation is a bit weird but eventually you will find what switch goes to what. The kitchen table and chairs need to be upgraded. The chairs all have splits in the wood so they tend to pinch you if you aren't careful. There is a great side yard that is fenced in for your doggie to go outside and do their business. You can close the gate on the porch so you'll be sure they will stay enclosed too! There's a fan running in the crawlspace that is quite loud and when you are outside, relaxing on the porch you notice it. I'm hoping they turn it off, as I'm not sure that fan was meant to run 24/7.

We enjoyed the pet-friendly aspect and the location. We loved the idea of the stream in the back yard. However, we would have preferred the back deck/yard area be more inviting so that we could enjoy the stream more. The front porch was nice, but all you could see were trees and the road...and there was a window a/c unit running behind your head. I did like how the front porch was gated to allow my fur baby some freedom. Lastly, we didn't find the beds very comfortable, and the bedrooms were hot in July. But the living areas were adequate for two. Probably won't be my pick for a cabin next year.

Thank you for leaving a review of your stay at Creekside Comfort. The owner has just installed two mini split units to provide quieter AC and heat for the cabin. The window AC unit has been removed so that noise is no longer there. We do hope you will stay with us again in the future.

Cabin and Property was fantastic. Close enough to plenty of things to do to get away, but still has the secluded feel. The dog loved the gated wrap around porch and large fenced in area. I would stay again and recommend to anyone looking to get away.
